The sporty INFINITI Q50 packs quite a punch for a four-door sedan, which isn’t often the case with cars in this category. Sleek design and an upscale interior make this a comfortable highway cruiser that performs well and looks great while doing so. Let’s take a closer look at the 2022 Q50 to see what makes it a fine option for modern drivers.

Your Guide to the 2022 INFINITI Q50

Basics About the Q50 for 2022

INFINITI’s standalone four-door sedan, the Q50 is an elegant blend of sport and luxury. Gorgeous bodywork is highlighted with swoops and scallops that are sure to draw attention while hinting at something more under the hood. INFINITI delivers on this promise with a standard twin-turbo V-6 engine: a powerful option not usually found on cars in this category.

Performance is maximized with the Red Sport 400 model, which goes from 0-60 mph in an impressive 4.5 seconds. On the inside, the Q50 uses upscale materials to provide a luxurious feel. Supportive front seats come wrapped in leather across the whole Q50 lineup, with lots of power adjustment options. Passengers will also enjoy ample headroom and legroom in the comfortable cabin.

New Features

INFINITI has reconfigured the Q50 lineup for the 2022 model year, getting rid of the former base-level Pure trim as well as the mid-level Signature Edition. The three new trim levels are the Luxe, Sensory, and Red Sport 400. The base Luxe trim comes with quite a few luxuries, including leather upholstery, a power-adjustable steering column, a 16-speaker Bose audio system, and multiple active safety features.

The mid-level Sensory trim includes an option for Saddle Brown leather upholstery, as well as open-pore wood interior touches and a new HVAC system that incorporates an air purifier.  All Q50 models also now come standard with wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Technology

Every 2022 Q50 comes with a unique dual-screen infotainment system that can be configured to display different apps on either screen. The upper 8.0-inch unit is used for media and connectivity options such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation. This upper screen can be controlled using touch, a control knob, or convenient steering wheel controls.

The lower 7.0-inch screen handles climate control and other vehicle functions. Two front-row USB ports come standard, and there’s an option for second-row ports as well. The wi-fi hotspot option can be paired with up to seven devices.

Performance

There are two engine options to choose from for the 2022 Q50. The base 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 delivers 300 horsepower, while the Red Sport 400 version boosts output to 400 hp. Both versions are paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission and are available in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

These are some of the features that make the Q50 an excellent choice for anyone seeking a bit more sporty appeal from a four-door sedan. Beyond its handsome exterior design, this luxury sedan packs quite a punch compared to its rivals. Call or stop by Bommarito INFINITI to take it out for a test drive and see for yourself.
